Think About it

We all have certain events and times we remember very well. It may the people we were with, the place, the time of year or even a combination of all of them. Moses, in the scripture above, had a memorable meeting with God. I am sure he remembered it for years to come.

Your time with God is going to memorable. You will have meetings with God you will remember for the rest of your life. The desire is to have each meeting memorable to you.

God’s desire is for you to give Him glory. He does this by showing you His character through the Bible, creation, other people and circumstances. The more we know God’s character the more equipped we are in giving Him glory.

It is important for you to record what God is teaching you. This is done by journaling. It is simply the process of writing down what God is teaching you through His word, creation, people and circumstances.

Dwell On it

Beginning your journal is simple. Here are some starting points:

• Use a notebook / or Journal. It does not have to be fancy. It can be a spiral or loose-leaf notebook. Or buy a book specific for journaling. Use something you can keep together.
• Record what happens in your time with God: What scripture did you read? What is God trying to say in the scripture? What is God saying to you?
• Be practical: How can I apply what God is saying in this passage?

Why should you journal? Writing out what is taking place in your quite times is a great way to process what God is saying. It can help you find the practical application of God’s word to your life. Journaling also creates a reminder of what God is doing in your life and keeps you accountable to it.

Rules of thumb for journaling:

• Be honest in your journaling. This is between you and God. Be honest with your thoughts and struggles.
• Be consistent in your journaling. If you miss a day pick it back up the next. Don’t make it so rigid you dread doing it. But try to do it on a regular bases.
• Go back and read it. Allow your journal to remind you of where God has taken you.

Pray About It

Ask God to help you make each meeting with Him a memorable one.
